Home Sweet Home Friday, Dec 11 2009

Wow! So I thought I was going to be updating while I was out in Montana, but I got to be pretty busy!!! So Here I sit, at my dad’s house killing time while I do my laundry, drinking a glass of wine and thought I’d put up some pictures.

So before I left for Montana, Brandon took me out to Red Lobster to eat and then we just sat around my apartment. I cried when I left, it was hard to leave him. As soon as the train started pulling away he sent me a text saying “I love you!” It was super sweet! The train ride was uneventful, no creepies this time which was nice and it seemed to go quicker this time.

I’ve started to enjoy a glass of wine from time to time, so I brought out my favorite bottle to Montana to share with mom. Here’s a picture of us enjoying a glass..me out of a mason jar and mom using an actual wine glass.

I also decided to take pictures of her dog Sassy, who I LOVED! and the cat Benson. Benson looked a lot like my cat Charlie I had growing up, but this was a much more cuddlier and nicer version lol.

Sassy's tongue was ALWAYS going!

She would lick the air sometimes!

Benson and I...and the game on in the background :-)

For Thanksgiving we went over to Grandma and Grandpa’s. It was really nice to see everyone that made it. I was excited that my cousin Aaron was able to come home for the holiday, I hadn’t seen him since last Christmas and I really didn’t expect to see him at home. I got to see Tami, Tommy, Kelli and Ross briefly before they headed out to Billings for Kelli’s surgery in the morning.  They all looked great! Speaking of looking great…haha…here’s a picture of mom and I on Thanksgiving all dressed up (she’s wearing my new sweater)

It was also really cool to see the deer in the yard in the mornings. I’m not a huge fan of waking up in the AM hours because of the schedule I’m used to with working over nights, but it was so cool to see the deer. Here’s a few pictures I managed to take.

She was looking at me...

Here's a group of 4 deer and 2 more joined shortly

And I’ll leave the post with some pictures of family. It was such a blast out there, and the weather was gorgeous! And as much as I love being in Montana, and how I do consider it home, it was nice to be back home in my own bed and with Brandon. I can’t wait for next year when Brandon’s able to come with me!!!

With Mel and Sean

With grandma and grandpa, it was great seeing them!

With Aunt Tami at the train station!

With mom and our wishbone....she won

All my bags are packed… Friday, Nov 20 2009

Okay so that’s a lie…I haven’t even done my laundry yet and I leave tomorrow night for Montana. Tomorrow is laundry and packing day…today is my birthday and I refuse to actually do something on my birthday lol. Brandon gave me my gifts last night about 15 minutes before my actual birthday…this is what he gave me:

We have to bring the jersey back to get a different size. He realized when we was talking to the sales lady that he didn’t realize what size shirt I wore…he debated back and forth between a large and a medium and decided if he was going to be wrong he’d rather have picked the smaller size…so we have to go back and get a large. He had good thinking though lol. And the Vikings mascot stuffed animal was sprayed with his cologne so I have something that smells like him to cuddle with while I’m in Montana. He’s such a sweet heart!

2 Weeks ago we went to a Bret Michaels concert at the casino because he got free tickets. It was a blast!!! Bret put on an amazing show, no complains at all!!! Here’s a few pictures from that night!

Bret Michaels

That Monday after the concert weekend, Brandon didn’t have to work at night, just during the day so I invited him over so I could cook him some dinner. I decided I’d make something I make myself all the time so that way I wouldn’t mess it up. Apparently, I can still mess it up. I made a make shift version of Chicken Parmesian….I was making the chicken, heating up the sauce and making the noodles and some corn all at the same time…forgot about the noodles and they got mushy and fused themselves together. So they lost noodle consistancy…but still tasted good. As a surprise he showed up with these for me:  It was a complete surprise! I didn’t expect flowers at all! I ended up drying the rose and keeping the petals in the piece of pottery he gave me awhile ago. It’s so pretty!!!

Yesterday I got high lights and low lights put in my hair so I’d look good for my trip and for my birthday. It looks different than from when I usually get it done but I love it!!!!

Tonight a bunch of us are meeting at  Mexican Village for dinner, because they give people free meals on their birthdays. After that I don’t know if we’re all getting together to watch movies or have a bon fire….it’s gorgeous out so I’m hoping for the fire. Then tomorrow Brandon and I are spending the entire day together, he’s taking me out to Red Lobster and then he’s going to take me to the train. I’ve already warned him that I’m going to cry when I get on the train…I’m guessing he’s going to cry too. But he’s so sweet…and at least I get good cell phone reception out in Montana so we can still talk.

I’ll also have my lap top with me out there so I’m sure I’ll be updating this while out there. I have my friends camera so I can update pictures again!!! YAY!!!!

Skol Vikings! Wednesday, Oct 28 2009

Wow it’s been awhile! I just don’t feel like blogging much when I don’t have a lot of pictures to go with my stories, but I will try really hard to at least update a little bit as to what’s going on with Brandon and I.

The last month or so has been crazy!!! Marching band season was going on, so I had competitions every Saturday and Brandon started working his evening shifts which makes it difficult to see each other. He works 3:00-11:30 Mon-Fri and I work 10:45-6:45 Sun-Thurs….so it’s a lot of rearranging of schedules and me driving out to Paynesville in the morning to see him before he goes to work. It’s worked out so far, and we spend every weekend together.

We were fortunate enough to be able to see Sam and Mirjam when they were in the States a few weeks ago. I was really excited to see Noah because the last time I had seen him he was just a few months old, last Christmas. Now he’s walking around and is getting so big! As soon as we pulled up to the cabin they were staying in Sam and Noah greeted us. Noah immediately opened his arms up to Brandon to be held. Brandon carried him inside where Noah continued to show affection to Brandon by giving him kisses. It was adorable, until I tried to hold him and he kept pushing away from me lol. I can see where I rank.  I was going to include the picture of the 3 of us, but I can’t seem to find it now, but I do have it on my facebook page and Sam and Mirjam’s blog also has the picture of us. I think it’s adorable!!! Thank you Mirjam for taking the picture for me!

Brandon has season tickets to the Vikings. He has had these for the last 3 or 4 years or so. I was told early on that he has these tickets and nothing stands in the way of the Vikings, and I completely understand that football, especially the Vikings are his passion. Every Sunday if the Vikes have an away game we get together with his friends Nick and Andy and watch the football games. Well last weekend, when the Vikings played the Rams I actually got a chance to go to the home game with all of them. It was the first time I’ve been to a Vikings game and I had a BLAST! We tail gated before the game, grilled up some brats and burgers and threw the football around for awhile. Here’s a picture of us before the game.

Brandon and I Vikes

We won that game making us 6-0. Of course after just this last weekend and the game against the Steelers we’re now 6-1…but at least it wasn’t my fault! I was warned before the Rams game that if we lost the game, considering I’ve never been to a game before and we were undefeated that if we lost, it was my fault and I was never allowed to come to another game. Luckily we won against he Rams (barely) and I’m allowed to go again if another ticket opens up! This weekend we play the Pack in Wisconsin, so we’re getting all ready for the game, followed by some time in Nick’s hot tub…should be a great time!!!! I’m really starting to enjoy football and I’m surprised at how much I actually understand lol.

Most amazing weekend! Tuesday, Sep 1 2009

The Twins game on Friday night was a complete blast!!! It ended up just being Brandon and I with his sister, Melanie, and her husband Andy. We drove seperate because Brandon and I were meeting up with my friend Matt after the game. While we were walking to the dome Brandon took my hand, like he usually does, and all of a sudden I heard from behind us “aw honey lets hold hands like the young ones in front of us.” It was his sister trying to embarass us…didn’t work. During the game he kept his arm around me almost the whole time, or at least held my hand. Actually, he usually does this no matter where we are or what we’re doing….and I absolutly love it! At the game they were handing out Joe Mauer on a stick in honor of the state fair, so Andy helped us take a picture with Joe….it kind of worked.

Brandon and I

After the game we caught a comedy show in the MOA. Matt got us in free because he worked there, but now has a different job…which is sad but amazing. Sad because, well he got some funny one liners from the comedians, but amazing because he finally got the full time job he’s been looking for; he’s the director of music at a church in the cities.

Saturday we met up with my friend Gideon at the MOA for a short time. I hadn’t seen him in 2 years so it was great to see him again. Then we went off to the street dance. Most of Brandon’s family was there, and it was a blast! The band was horrible, but it was still a good time. Him and I finally got a chance to dance to a slow song, Every Rose Has Its Thorn by Poison. I love this song….and it was actually the first song Brad and I ever danced to also.

Sunday I decided to test how much I really like him….I attended his Fantasy Football Draft party thing in the cities with him. And I have to admit….I had a blast. The guys kind of looked at me funny for being there and sitting on the couch next to Brandon instead of off in the corner like the 2 other girlfriends that were there, but I really do enjoy football so I wanted to get in on this. I helped him pick two players for his team (granted I picked them solely on their names because I hadn’t heard of any of my options…lol).

Tomorrow I’m going out to his place again to have dinner with his parents. His mom said she’d love to have me over again for dinner, and frankly…I love her cooking! She has yet to make something I don’t like…but I’m also not picky lol. Friday night we’re going to a Pat Benatar concert with his best friend Amanda and her boyfriend Matt. Saturday we’re going out to the casino with his whole family and Sunday I’m thinking we’re going to see a Shane Wyatt show! Another packed weekend, but at least it’s a long weekend this time!

Date update Monday, Aug 24 2009

Sorry it took so long to blog again about everything, it’s been super busy because everything decided to start picking up at the EXACT same time.

The date I went on was amazing. We were supposed to go fishing, but the water everywhere was nasty and green because it was suddenly in the 90’s that week. Since we were going to just be fishing from shore, we really didn’t want to fight against the nasty green algae and other slime so we went for probably a 5 mile walk around a lake on a new walking path that was made. There’s a good chance it was a longer walk than that, but we just walked around and talked. It was awesome and I couldn’t have asked for anything better. I feel so comfortable around him and don’t feel I have to hold anything back when talking. When we got back to the car he asked me if I was hungry so we went out for some pizza. Then he took me back to my car, kissed me goodnight and that was that. The next day, during one of my random question bombards I asked him what his idea of a perfect date is and his response was 2 simple words “last night.”

That Friday, the 14th, he needed to come into St. Cloud to run a few errands and things and asked if he could swing by and pick me up and go with him. I said sure. So I went with him to get a hair cut and pick up some groceries. We spent maybe only a couple hours together, but then he was meeting up with some friends to go to the Twins game that night. After he left I had sent him a text asking what was going on between us, was it alright to call him my boyfriend or what. Because he had both implied dating when we were talking, but nothing had ever actually been said and my family and friends had been asking me quite relentlessly if he was my boyfriend or what was going on. So he replied back saying he was just typing up a text to ask me pretty much the same thing…so we officially started dating on the 14th lol. The next night him and I went to a movie, District 9, and then met up with my friends to watch some fireworks and just chill at my friend, Adam Kuechle’s, farm. It was a complete blast, even though it down poured on us while we were out riding in the fields on the back of a truck. Sunday I went out to Paynesville to meet a couple of his friends. We sat around playing pool and watching the last day of the PGA tournament (since it was in MN I figured I could stomach golf for a bit).

That Tuesday I went out to Paynesville again and had dinner with him and his parents. His parents are so sweet! I love them!  They made BBQ chicken with homemade BBQ sauce, pototo salad (which I don’t usually like but I took some with me to work and had 2nds), BBQ shrimp skewers, fresh watermelon, broccoli (this I passed on) and some cheesey garlic bread. And then desert too! I had never seen so much food for 4 people before, and it was all AMAZING! After dinner Brandon and I went downstairs and watched The Shining because he had never seen it and it’s one of my favorite movies.

Thursday morning, before I left for Eagan to spend the weekend with my friend Matt for his birthday, I swung past where he works to pick up some things I left in his car Sunday and I stopped at Perkins on my way there and picked him up a piece of his favorite pie so he could have something for desert on his lunch break. Friday I ended up meeting up with him down in the cities because he needed to bring my license down for me. I somehow managed to leave my apartment without it on Thursday. And then yesterday I went straight from Eagan to Paynesville and got to spend the whole day with his entire family, brother, sisters, neices, nephews and parents. It was a complete blast! I love being around big families, and I absolutly love watching him horse around and play with his little neices and nephews! It’s adorable! The littlest one is really shy, her name is Autumn and she wouldn’t talk to me until the rest of the crew was beating up on Brandon. I was just sitting in the grass watching when I felt something pounce on my feet so I looked down and she had her hands on my feet, looking up at me said exclaimed “Got yo feet!” she giggled and backed up. Then she started to tickle my feet. From that point on, she wasn’t shy around me anymore. She’d point at me if her mom was carrying her saying “I get you!”

This last weekend for my friends birthday was AMAZING! Thursday night I went swing dancing (LOVE IT!), Friday we hit up the Mill City Museum, all about the flour milling in the cities area, and the History Center. The History Center had a big exhibit going on called The Greatest Generation, all about WWII era. It was AWESOME! We watched the Vikings game agains the Chiefs, and then went for a nice stroll at about midnight around the neighborhood. Saturday it was relaxing day, we had people over for a BBQ and just some good times in the apartment. We again went for a stroll around the neighborhood at about midnightish…another great time.

As for this week, I think Brandon and I are getting together on Wednesday night, probably dinner with his parents again so we can give them their early Anniversary gift (2 tickets for the Renaissance Festival because she REALLY wants to go), and Thursday he said he may come watch me bowl. His sister invited me out Friday night to join the whole family at a Twins game and Saturday night at a street dance…so it’ll be another weekend of family fun!!! :-)

I HAVE A DATE!!! Wednesday, Aug 12 2009

Ok so this last weekend we celebrated my best friends 21st birthday. It was a lot of her family and then me and my friend Matt. It was a blast!!! I was introduced to her cousin Brandon and we hit it off right away. We danced that night and exchanged numbers and have been talking and texting back and forth since that night. Well my friend isn’t too happy about this, and we’re not sure why. But him and I are going on a date tonight…..not a big fancy date…we’re going fishing lol. I haven’t been fishing in years, so he asked if I’d like to go with him. I’m really excited!!! He’s 23, works as a custodian at a local school and is super sweet. I asked him what made him decide to come and introduce himself to me and he said that when I was playing the bean bag game he couldn’t help but notice my amazing smile and radiant personality. It made me smile.

So hopefully tonight goes well. Sorry there aren’t any pictures…and there may not be a lot of them for awhile. I ended up breaking my camera Saturday night….apparently dropping it 3 times in a row…not a good idea. So either I need a new camera and find someone who can fix it. But I do still have my cell phone, and the horrible pictures it takes…so there will still be pictures, just not as many lol. Oh and if anyone wants to donate to the buy Niki a new camera fund….I do accept cash, checks and money orders lol :-)

Camping Wednesday, Aug 5 2009

For those of you who don’t know, I am a girl scout leader, well just the assistant, but still a leader. This last weekend we took our troop, only 4 girls, to William O’Brien state park to go camping for the weekend. We left Friday around 1 and got back about 2:30 on Sunday afternoon. It turned out to be a great weekend! We got a lot of rain on Friday night, with a few leaks in the tent, but otherwise the weather was beautiful!

Friday we set up camp and got all of our tents put up.

Julia and Lauren with their completed tent

After the tents were set up we ran into town to pick up a few more things that we had forgotten, where I found packs of candy cigarettes for a quarter! I’m not sure why I love this candy so much, but I’m kind of a sucker for them….so I bought 4 packs of them. You can’t find them anywhere anymore, so when I find them, I tend to buy multiples.

That night the girls decided we were making hobo dinners. It’s where you put hamburger, veggies, and some cream of mushroom soup in tinfoil, put it in the fire to cook, and then take it out and eat it straight from the tin foil. They were AMAZING! So simple, and so good, love it!

And of course, whats camping without some s’mores?! But we quickly realized that we didn’t have any marshmellow roasters, and we couldn’t find any decent green sticks so we had to jimmy rig something together using some duct tape, a fork, and a few medium sticks we found.

Slight fail...

Saturday was a packed day. We made bacon, sausage, and french toast over the fire for breakfast. We then had a tree identification thing at noon. That was a lot of fun and taught us how to use a key to figure out how to tell what kind of tree you’re dealing with. We split up into 3 teams, Lauren and I were on a team. We took 2nd, which wasn’t bad. After the Tree ID we came back to our site for a little R and R before some of us walked back up to the visitor center to go to a thing about snakes. The ranger had a Fox snake she brought out, his name was Foxy Scales. Some of us even got to hold him!

This was one of the coolest things I've ever done!

This was one of the coolest things I've ever done!

After the snake thing we packed up a lunch and headed to the beach to just sit by the lake for awhile. It was a little windy down there so only two of the girls swam. So we decided to teach the girls how to play Texas Hold ‘Em….It’s completely alright to teach your girl scout troop how to gamble right?

IMG_1868

That night we ate some pizza pocket dealies. They were also AMAZING! There are special toaster things, you place bread in them, pizza sauce, cheese, hamburger, peporoni, mushrooms…really anything you’d like to and then toast them in the fire. My first one came out perfect…the second one came out a little burnt. For a snack that night we decided to bring some Jiffy Pop. I have a hard enough time making this stuff at home on the stove, so I had no idea how this was going to work on an open camp fire. It actually worked really well! But after we made it all, Lauren and I were reading the directions on the back of the package and this is what it says (if you look closely…it clearly says not to make it over an open campfire…oops!):

Sunday we packed up and headed into Taylors Falls where we climbed around on the rocks over the St. Croix River. Coincidentally someone recently had fallen off the rocks into the water and died…so that was a little scarey. One of the girls dropped her camera down some rocks but we managed to retrieve it and it still worked! Here are a few pictures from Taylors Falls and also some other random ones from the camping trip of just some flowers and other things I took pictures of.

you can always look at the rest of my pictures on facebook, they’re all on there, all 170 some of them lol. On a side note: I had weigh in today and I lost another 1.6 pounds which put me over the 50lb mark! I’m at 51.2 lbs total lost!!! I was super excited! But a friend of mine who joined a few months before me is making me feel a little guilty. I was really worried going into weigh in today because of camping and how I was eating (s’mores are just too good to only have one lol) and I voiced my worry. Well I ended up losing and I’ve now passed her with how much I’ve lost. We started out at the same weight. She got down on me a bit about how she’s really frustrated and how I have no reason to worry so much because it doesn’t matter what I do it seems I lose. I feel bad, but it’s nothing I can really control. When I know I did bad over a weekend, I work really hard to make it better. And she’s the one that asked me how I did today with weigh in and she asks me if I’m worried every week. I don’t know what to do with that, but I do feel bad….but also feel great for hitting this mile stone. Hopefully everything else works out alright now!

23 miles in 2 days… Thursday, Jul 30 2009

So I’ve been roller blading a lot more lately. I started to do a 10 mile workout right after work and then maybe doing some more in the evening before work. With just Monday and Tuesday this week I rollerbladed 23 miles! The trail I rollerblade on is a pretty big trail that extends a long ways and in different directions. Here’s a picture of a small portion of what I rollerblade.

Wobegon TrailI usually start in St. Joe around the number 82. My goal is to make it to Avon and then back to my car in St. Joe, which will be roughly 14-16 miles. I have a couple friends who are up to the challenge of doing this with me, which is awesome. In the mornings when I do my 10 miles, I go up to the 87 and then turn around and come back. The best part about going on the trail early in the morning when I get off of work at 6:45 is all the wildlife I get to see! One morning I saw 3 adult deer and 2 babies. Another day, I had my camera with me and I saw another adult deer and got some pictures.

She saw me, but didn't take off running. It was really cool

One evening when Angela and I went out we came past this sheep farm that I see all the time. And I noticed one of the sheep looked closer to the trail than usual. I stopped and turned around, sure enough it was out of the fence! It kind of freaked out a bit and took off running….but I wanted a picture so I took off after it slowly. This is all I got on my phone.

This weekend I’m taking my girl scout troop to William O’Brian state park to go camping. So far the weather doesn’t look too bad. Some rain Friday night, but then it should be clear. As long as it holds out until we get our tents set up I’m okay! I’m actually really excited to go going camping, I haven’t been camping in forever! I’ll have plenty of pictures. There’s going to be a lot of nature walks and hiking and some rock climbing, swimming. Good times! Then next week is band camp with the fall marching camp. This is where the kids will learn the field drill for their music. They’ll be practicing 5 days a week from 8-4 or 5. I’ll be there from 8-noonish so I can still get some sleep for work. It’ll be a long week after a long weekend, but it’ll be worth it!!!

What a weekend! Monday, Jul 27 2009

I hope everyone else had a great weekend, because I sure did! Friday I didn’t get a whole lot of sleep during the day. I had to be at the first Marching Band practice from 9-11 because they started to work on our music for fall. They’re sounding really good, they’re very small….but still sounding great! I’m excited to see what this season has in store for them!

After practice I ran back home, layed down for a few hours until my friend Adam stopped by to eat his lunch. He stayed for a little bit and then he was off so I layed back down again. But I kept the volume on my phone up so I heard every text I got….wow do some people text a lot lol. Then I went back into Cold Spring and watched some of the Firemen do their water ball fights. It’s so much fun! For those of you who don’t know what that is, it’s where you get two different towns firemen, dressed in gear with their hoses. There is a wire strung between two dump trucks in the dumping position with a ball on the wire. It starts in the middle and the firemen try to push the ball onto the other teams side with the water hose. It’s always a good time, and most of the time you get pretty wet watching from the water. After I watched those, Adam and I headed off to go see Ice Age 3. It wasn’t too bad, not quite as good as the first two, but still cute.  After the movie I ran out to my other friend Adam’s farm and we hung out out there for awhile. It was a blast! They had hooked up a huge trailor to a tractor, put some hay bails and some couches on it and we just drove around the fields for hours. I joined Adam up on the tractor for awhile. I absolutly love being out on the farm!

Saturday morning I woke up and headed off to the Cold Spring car show. Brad’s parents usually put his car in the show, so a few of us that were really close to him head off to hang out with his parents and look at the car. It looked like it was going to rain, so they weren’t at the car show. It was sad, but we still made our rounds. This was a group favorite that we saw.IMG_1554It was a beautiful car! After we left the car show I just hung out in Cold Spring waiting for my friends to get there that I was meeting for the big concert that night. The concert is called Fire Fest. Last year they had my friends band opening for big country star Joe Nichols. All of the money goes to the Cold Spring Fire Dept to help buy equipment and keep everything up to date. This year it was supposed to be Chris Cagle and Luke Bryan but Chris was put on mandatory vocal rest so they ended up getting 2 more huge country stars to replace him. So it was a grand total of 3 huge country stars and a local band to open. And the price for the ticket?…$25. Well $30 the week of the event. But still, not expensive for the show you see. So the people that were there were: Luke Bryan

IMG_1615

Heidi Newfield:

IMG_1649

And the big name was Billy Currington!

IMG_1717

Billy was AMAZING!!! Well all 3 were amazing! I was right up by the stage, it was just amazig! For the very last song of the night Billy Currington sang the song Good Directions with Luke Bryan. Luke had written the song for Billy so it was really cool to see the two of them on stage together singing it.

The night was…LEGENDARY! Sunday I ran to my parents house to do some laundry and to show them pictures from being on the Shane Train to the Randy Travis show the weekend before, and to show them the pictures from this last weekend.

Today is Brad’s birthday, he would have been 24 today. There’s not a day that goes by that I dont’ think of him. I miss him like crazy, but I’m healing and getting better. I roller bladed 10 miles this morning in just under an hour. It was very refreshing and invigorating. I may do another 8 tonight at some point, but not really sure. I still haven’t showered or eaten anything lol. I popped in a tv on dvd and am kind of hooked…so who knows what I’ll end up doing before work.

It’s been too long! Sunday, Jul 19 2009

So as you can see, it’s been a very long time since I last blogged. My lap top took a puke on me, well the fan broke into a few too many pieces. But my friends husband fixed it for me and I am eternally greatful!! I was going through blogging withdrawls! So to give you a rundown of things that have happened….well that I can remember that are blog worthy lol. I’ve been to a lot more Shane Wyatt shows, as always it’s a great time. Been to a few Twins games, which are always a blast!! I love summer because it’s baseball season! I’ve hit a HUGE milestone in my weight loss this last week. I finally dipped below 200lbs. I don’t think I’ve been around this weight since freshman year of high school…I’m down a little short of 48lbs. I’ve started roller blading almost daily, I’m up to 10 miles…but have only done that when I’m alone, otherwise it’s been 6 miles. The other morning when I was doing 10 miles after work I saw 3 adult deer and 2 babies. It was amazing!

This last weekend I got to see Shane twice! Friday night was at a local bar around here that had a mechanical bull! IT WAS A BLAST!!! I’ve really become deeply interested in Professional Bull Riding (PBR) lately and so when I heard I could ride a mechanical bull at this show, I put my cowboy hat on and saddled up!

Shane Wyatt and I...thought I needed a picture with him while I was wearing the cowboy hat!

Shane Wyatt and I...thought I needed a picture with him while I was wearing the cowboy hat!

I may be hooked on an 8 second ride....but I didn't last that long on this thing..but it was a BLAST!

I may be hooked on an 8 second ride....but I didn't last that long on this thing..but it was a BLAST!

Friday night was a complete blast at the bar. The only downer was the fact that Ken, the bassist I’ve been interested in for the last 9 months, wasn’t there. He’s actually quitting the band at the end of August to continue schooling down in Texas. I’m excited for him to be attending school down there, but incredibly sad he’s going to Texas. But it’s for the best, everything happens for a reason.

Saturday night Shane got the incredible honor of opening up for Country Music Legend Randy Travis. He’s recently partnered up with Farm Boy/Farm Girl clothing and together they got a coach bus together to take 50 fans down to the show because the show was in Clear Lake, IA. So 3 of my friends and I got together, bought our tickets and hopped aboard the Shane Train! It was a complete blast! There was trivia on the way down there with prizes with some music and lots of laughs. Here’s a few pictures from the bus and the shows….all of the pictures are on my facebook page also.

These two guys were standing by the doors to go outside and I decided to get my picture with them. After I did that, my friend Matt go his picture taken with them too. It was cool, they decided they should put up a sign charging $1 for a photo with them. I told them it’d be a good idea, we’ll see if that happens for the next show lol. They are both very cool guys though. Last week Friday they opened up for the National Recording Artist Love and Theft. They have a hit on the radio called Runaway, great song!!! I love it!

Well for now that’s it. I have to work early tonight so I’m going to jet off and get some roller blading in before I have to be at work. This coming weekend is a concert called Fire Fest. It’s a benefit to raise money for the Cold Spring Fire Department. They usually get one big Country star in, but this year there are 3; Billy Currington, Luke Bryan and Heidi Neufield. I’m really excited for it. The weekend after that I’m taking my girl scout troop camping for the weekend at William O Brien State Park. Should be a good time!!!! Hope everything is well with all of you!!! :-)
